Aivis Pīzelis “Fighting Spirit” (90×90 cm)

Brief information on the artwork:

My grandfather fought lung cancer many years. He was a real countryside man; he loved nature, work and his closest ones. In the end, the disease was stronger, but he left us all the human values that continue living in our countryside house.
The artwork is an allegory of the fight against the disease, a bird trying to get out of the darkness when its wings are already covered with pitch.
